There’s nothing wrong with staying small

If you’re a business owner, you’re probably told you need to have big aspirations and goals by gurus.

I don’t think this is a requirement for everyone.

Your business can serve to support a lifestyle, bring in supplementary income, and help you fuel a passion.

Staying small is okay.

There’s no stakeholders to serve other than yourself.

You’re away from the public eye and scrutiny.

You can focus on being profitable instead of revenue driven.

You can serve a really small group of people extremely well instead of doing a mediocre job serving millions of people.

One of my favorite business books that will help put this into more perspective, and provide a much more compelling argument than I can is called Small Giants.
